During the legendary reign of the noble families in Italy, masked balls were the way of the world. Certainly it was for a certain Massimo Rossi who meets his match in that of Piero, a darkly handsome and mysterious Italian from the countryside. The feeling is mutual and as the sparks go off between them, so does an impeding danger that is out to potentially destroy them both. On the other hand, Massimo’s wife isn’t very pleased with her husband’s newfound interest in Piero so she satisfies her frustrations with her talented maid. Long lost cousins magically appear and family dramas come to the surface. Spies lurk in the shadows, family feuds are to be settled once and for all, and assassins lie waiting for the perfect time to pounce. Throw in a few other interesting characters and story lines with the common theme of living in sensual pleasure and it can’t get much hotter or complicated.
I found this story to be extremely creative considering the relatively briefness of it. The action was non-stop and the drama was full of intrigue and mystery. The interaction between the characters flowed and I felt that everything worked extremely well. This book was an entertaining read and I thought that it was accurately stated by the press in deeming is as a, "can’t miss, exciting ride."
