After a wrong decision comes back to haunt Emma Jean, she decides to visit her family. Drawn into the past that up to now she has been unable to escape, she finds the answers in the journals of the legendary praying woman named Jean Plymal. Through her words Emma Jean learns about the great true love between Sam, the boy from the other side of the tracks and Jean, the innocent girl who only happiness in life was spending time with him.
The journal follows a lifetime of hope and love which Emma Jean draws inspiration from. With added commentary from Aunt Mimi and Uncle Joe who were their best friends, Emma Jean learns that one does not need to be right in order to win. She meets a local artist, Jeff, whom together they embark on a journey of self-discovery and the truth of being called a praying woman.
This book was an absolute delight to read. Ms. Carters storytelling technique is absolutely
exquisite with its nuances and shades of the characters and life around them. The story flowed throughout and the drama was so compelling one experienced both laughter and tears. As it is not
everyday that you come across such a beautiful story, I would strongly recommend this wonderfully
entertaining book.
