Have you ever wondered why fairy tales always feature a handsome prince and a beautiful damsel but never two beautiful damsels who fall in love? JoSelle Vanderhooft did as she grew up and came to terms with her sexuality and turned to romantic tales for company and comfort.
Now she has had the chance to assemble a collection of ten such stories retold from a Sapphic angle. With old favourites plus lesser known traditional tales and some new ones altogether, these stories enchant and intrigue from a different angle.
I have my favourites which I'd like to be able to tell you about but that would be unfair to all the authors here who have without exception skilfully woven their tales within the traditional framework and vocabulary of these well loved classic forms.
If you are straight, you will still enjoy this work which is romantic and beguiling but in no way ever pornographic or sensationalist. If you are Sapphic, you may find there is even more to intrigue you. And here's an idea. If there is someone in your life who you think, hope or pray is Lesbian too, but are afraid to ask, then buy them a copy of this collection and ask them what they think.
There is nothing that would offend and maybe much to gain from this charming anthology. Go ahead!
