Call Back Yesterday is a romantic Victorian reincarnation story.  Darcy Kincaid is a writer and currently working on a collection of Egyptian children’s stories that she hopes to publish. Her grandmother wants her to get married, have children and play the fashionable lady role in polite society.  The fact that she is half Egyptian and half English does not place her in her grandmother’s favorable esteem.  Undaunted, Darcy is determined to earn her own pay, write her stories and has applied for the position of secretary to Dr. Simon Garrett.  That way she decided she could write after work hours and gain enough money to pay for a trip to Egypt.

She is turned away when she first arrives at Rosewood Hall because Dr. Garrett expected her to be a male secretary.  She persuades him to allow her to demonstrate her skills and the fact that she can use a typewriter, and he allows her to stay on.  They are deeply attracted to one another from the moment they see one another.  Little do they realize that they were lovers in Ancient Egypt and that they are now reunited in present day Victorian England.  In order for them to be together they must face and surmount many obstacles malefic trouble that is brewing to keep them apart.

This book is a wonderful love story; it has action, suspense, paranormal activity, and sensuality, a touch of gothic atmosphere, and powerfully written heroes and heroines. Definitely one I would recommend for a summer read.
