The stories and richly detailed photographs will warm your heart. They are a fascinating historical record and glimpse into the lifestyle that your grandparents may have led. They bring life to the recipes and allow you to immerse yourself into the beliefs and lore of another culture. The recipes feature a mixture of hearty foods, and rich desserts, that exemplify the best of Jewish home cooking. These recipes are not always time friendly but the results are mouthwatering and extraordinary. I have had the pleasure of making the potato soup and onion rolls. Both recipes took some time to make but they will definitely become traditional favorites in my home. The simple foods contained in this cookbook are definitely easy to make on a frugal budget and at the same time are wonderful comfort foods that your family will love.
