Mikael Giovanni, dark, brooding, sexy…immortal, he is the king of the Giovanni Gypsies, and he is about to meet the one woman who can fill the void his cursed life has left him with. Allie Tremont has her own cross to bear, one that doesn’t leave room for a future with any man. However, fate sometimes has other plans, and a forever kind of thing just might be what’s in store for these two.
Today, where stories of vampires are the norm when it comes to brooding immortals, it was unique to find one that dealt with a man, who was just a man, albeit cursed to live forever, but human all the same. I felt for him. Then, Ms. Cullen introduces the heroin. She is wonderful. Funny, outspoken, the kind of character any woman can relate to.
From the very beginning, I was hooked. Ms. Cullen wields her pen with such skill; the reader is sucked in before they know what hit them. By the end of the prologue, I had chills and I felt for each of the characters introduced. I even read it to my husband and told him this is what I aspire to when I write.
I enjoyed this book immensely and recommend it to anyone who likes a story that will grip them and hold them until the end.
