“Orgasm should be a relatively effortless affair.” According to Richardson, ecstasy is our natural state. Looking around in my part of the world, if that is true then we must one of the most unnatural species ever created. However, this book offers a great deal of valuable advice about achieving this much sought after state based on the theory that men and women are opposite but equal sexually speaking; definitely not the same, she likens the sexual forces as working like a magnet. Man plus woman equal completeness.
Richardson also contends that each man is half woman and each woman half man. Perhaps this covers the dynamics between gay and lesbian couples though it is not specifically stated in the test. This is a strictly heterosexual piece of work. This is a practical manual for lovers; the exercises are not beyond the scope of most healthy adults and there is no doubt that going through them would heighten a couple’s awareness of pleasure and intimacy. The tantric meditations included at the end of each chapter go a long way toward relaxation, though sometimes the names given these meditations are a giggle. My personal favorite is “peace pervading the armpits”; a bit silly but it works. I would recommend this book for any couple.
