Reviewed by Dr. Tami Brady

Love Poems and Laments is a collection of poetry and other poetic works by the author. The overall theme of this anthology is love and lust creating a rather interesting contrasting set of dynamics to the overall feel of the world. Some of the poems have a sensual, regal feel. Many even discuss love set in ancient times. Other works are more raw with a steamy modern feel. Often these pieces look specifically at lust in the guise of love. The contrast between these types of works is absolutely breathtaking.

In addition to this contrast in the overall feel of these works, the author has also created a variety of formats that increase the overall intensity of each piece. For instance, the author created a series of dialogue works (First Meeting, Second Meeting, Third Meeting, and Final Meeting) that detail the spoken conversation and unspoken thoughts of two new lovers. The character progression and change in attitudes in these pieces is brilliantly crafted.
