Nights in Black Satin is yet another outstanding work by Rachel Carrington. I've also read Sin's Touch, which I loved, and Ms. Carrington's latest work shows she is a talented writer. She has a way with words that just makes for a satisfying read.
First, let me preface this review with my only caveat to Nights in Black Satin. It was too short. No, I don't mean to say it doesn't have a perfectly good ending. What I mean is, I was very sad to see it end at all. I fell in love with the characters, all of them, not just the hero and heroine. They are colorful, humorous, quirky.... I could go on and on.
From the start, I was captivated. Noelle is a delight. I love her strength and her wit. Then, there is the hero. Now, he is just scrumptious. The sexual tension built by the circumstances of their first meeting is electrifying.
After all, Jacob does find her naked--well, with a sheet wrapped around her naked body--in the same room as his sixty-eight year old uncle, who's dead by the way.
Not exactly the perfect set up for love at first sight. To top it all off, Noelle is a witch. Of course, being a mortal, Jacob needs a bit of convincing in this area, but that doesn't stop the attraction. Nope, Ms. Carrington has created a wonderful story that kept me smiling and only took a couple of hours to read.
I would love to see more of the relationship blooming between Jacob and Noelle and I know there is a story/man out their for Noelle's mischievous cousin too. At least I hope there is.
Bravo to you Ms. Carrington.
