Kayla Morgan receives a job offer to be a ghostwriter for a famous romance novelist who was injured severely in a car crash. The book she has to finish writing has intimate sexual encounters and ménage trios. Kayla to her dismay finds out that the novelist writes about her own experiences and researches these sexual encounters first hand. She decides to accept the job and returns home to start on the manuscript.
She sees Shawn McKay as she pulls into her driveway. They have both been attracted to each other since he moved in next door. He asks her out to dinner and they have a wonderful evening that ends with a sensual lovemaking session. Kayla describes her dilemma about researching the rest of the novel and Shawn proposes an idea. He wants to include his brother Ryan in their lovemaking so that she can finish the novel and keep the job. This book is beautiful, and sensual. It is a low-key erotica that explores the depth and feeling that can exist between three people. It also takes a look at the insecurities, hopes, fears, and the emotional ups and downs that come with a poly relationship. I found this story to be a deeply satisfying read. It is sensual, seductive, but not overpowering. The characters merge beautifully, on multiple levels, not just in a sexual sense.
