Andrea Simmons could have kicked herself for agreeing to meet Jammer, even if it was for a job. Seething with anger and hatred from old wounds, she was dismayed to realize that she still loved him. She was determined to refuse his offer, no matter what it was, but she had agreed to the meeting and to listen to what he had to say. Her firm resolve slowly began to melt the moment she saw him. His good looks were disarming. He began to relate the story of how his brother Tomas and wife Katrin were vacationing in remote areas on the planet Zarun. The couple went out exploring further than they should have and cyborg slavers captured his brother. The slavers rewire the innocent captive’s brain and add circuitry to make them mindless slaves. Katrin, Tomas’s wife is a molecular biologist who believes she has a way to reverse the programming and bring Tomas back to her. Andrea agrees to help Jammer with vague misgivings. Fitted with an implant so she can talk silently to Jammer, she begins her own transformation to go deep undercover. Katrin begins to turn her into a Cyborg to infiltrate the slavers, and rescue Tomas. Andrea is a character that I liked and admired. She was strong, determined, willful, and a fighter but she follows her heart. This book has a very intriguing Sci-Fi plot and storyline with a strong romantic undercurrent. The sex scenes between the vampire Jammer and cyborg Andy were sensual, romantic, and not the run of the mill romance. I was caught up in the story immediately, this is a must read for lovers of Sci-Fi Romance, who want to read something a little different.
