Romeo has always fought any serious attachment any female might present to him, sickened by the effects of love on his brothers, he has sworn off love. Busy taking care of the family underground vampire business and generally raising hell when the mood strikes, Romeo and Wolf decide to take a couple days between jobs, and score some entertainment. He meets Christine, and what appears to be a one-night stand of hot sex turns into a very passionate episode, making him question his emotions.
All the brothers pull together to handle the threat against their family. Rogue vampires, shift changers, and wizards are working hard to eradicate the humans. It's their job as the owners and head vampires of the underground to stop this from happening. Romeo and Wolf are busy taking out the council, whom it appears is heading the rebellion.
Returning to work, Romeo finds Christine to be harder to forget than he wanted. Heading back, he runs into roadblocks not of his making, she has told him it was a nice interlude and claimed it was over. Anger pushing him, Romeo leaves to finish wrapping up family business, finally understanding Christine is his blood mate. Going back to claim her Romeo learns a few hard truths about her. Needing everything to be perfect, he sets out to fix all the wrongs.
Eve Vaughn has provided her audience with erotica including a touch of humor and suspense, not to mention the violence that is associated with vampires. Very heated sex scenes mixed, with playfulness not often found when one reads about vampires or any other occult type subjects. Writing in the beliefs from the movies, proving that if, such a thing exist, we as humans would probably be ignorant of their make-up.
