The Sacred Texts of India takes a skeptical look at the origins of the Vedas, the Upanishads, the Puranas, the Bhagavad Gita, the Mahabharata, and the Ramayana. As a devotee of Hinduism, the author began questioning not only the origin and intended purposes of these ancient scriptures but also wondered about their actually connection to God (Brahman). In his search, he realized the importance of intuition in his quest for a deeper faith.

The author is quite passionate about his quest for truth and his findings during this journey. As with the investigations of most religious scriptures, this may offend some individuals that see these works as word by word absolute truth. Nonetheless, I feel that investigation into one’s beliefs need not be a negative action. In fact, like the author of this short work, many people come away from such investigations with a deeper connection to their faith and a greater, more personalized understanding of their own beliefs.
