Ping: A Frog in Search of a New Pond
Stuart Avery Gold
Newmarket Press
ISBN: 1-55704-682-4
Fiction, Spirituality
Reviewed by Pamela Crossland

This is a parable about a frog looking for a new challenge, one that will challenge his long distance jumping. Using a mixture of vaguely Taoist sayings, business catch phrases, and a disturbing tendency to speak in Yoda-eze, frog's tutor, the wise owl, leads him to inner peace and builds his confidence in his ability to overcome obstacles and take new risks.

If one looked solely at the nine illustrations, she would come to the conclusion that this is a children's book; the sketches are cute and rather juvenile. Though the publicist compares this book to Who Moved My Cheese by Spencer Johnson, it is really more on a scale of The Tao of Pooh by Benjamin Hoff. A fun read as long as one isn't looking for an in depth study on how to change your life.
