I found this diet by accident this past summer on an online website. I am very excited now to have found the book that inspired the webpage. I found a rough outline for the food combining /acid alkaline diet and followed it as closely as possible. I am probably like many women out there that have had difficulty losing the extra weight gained during pregnancy. I started this diet mainly because I found it difficult to go up two flights of stairs without losing my breath. I wanted to be able to play with my children. I started getting scared when I noticed that I had started to get stiffness and pain in my joints. I seemed to constantly have a cold, headache or sinus infection, no matter what time of year it was. I have been plagued with numerous kidney stones for years and high blood pressure.

I found this diet and thought well, why not, I have tried every major brand of decongestant; this certainly cannot hurt. I was really afraid of having severe withdrawal symptoms from going off caffeine and sugar. I was really surprised, that the only adverse symptom that I had was a mild headache for two days. I am so excited about food combining and can say from personal experience that it does really work. I have energy now and feel like working out for two hours every day. All of my sinus issues went away within two weeks of starting the food-combining program. My blood pressure went down to normal, and my joint stiffness is gone. I am able to work out for two hours a day and still have energy to get me through the rest of the day feeling well. A side benefit is that I lost ten pounds in the first month. What is amazing is that I ended up eating more food on this diet than I was ever eating before. The main difference is that it was food of good quality. I never became hungry, and I stopped craving junk food, soda, and sugar completely. I started eating well and began to want salads instead of potato chips. This book contains wonderful recipes, charts, and examples to help you with meal planning. You can make small changes a little at a time to ease yourself and your family into the program. This book saved my health.
