Reviewed by Qetesh

This book is a follow up to the book Fundamentals in Drawing. It is an excellent guide for anyone wanting to take his or her drawing skills to the next level. The book starts with a wonderful section on Drawing from the Great Masters. You will learn to tackle artistic problems and find inspiration and solutions for your work by studying the great artists from the past. You will learn advanced techniques for showing form and shape. There is a wonderful section that shows you how to gain mastery of your subject by study from life. There are extensive exercises on nature, natural forms, technical drawing aids, fore shortening, perspective, composition, and dark and light, as well as figurative study. I was impressed with the detail of the sections on drawing clothing, draping, and hair; which are essential elements for the portrait artist. There are over 370 illustrations to help you hone your skills and gain competence over your artist medium.
