This book makes me smile; it is a delightful adventure of a young girl who has survives an accident on one horse and slowly regains her confidence with her own beloved Morgan horse. Along the way, a fair amount of valuable information about horses is blended into the story.

I read this book on my own, and with a young relative who enjoyed it as much as I did. Karen, the heroine of the tale, is believable, as are the supporting characters. Feld has a careful eye for detail and a keen understanding of horses and young people. Karen's road to healing requires the patience and help of friends as is the case in the "real" world. It is a great tale and will be treasured by a great many young readers.
