We interact with other people on a daily basis. Yet, we rarely reflect on how these interactions make us feel. Yes, once in a while, we will note that after visiting with someone we feel drained and tired. However, for the most part, we put very little thought into the process.

Liquid Mirror is a beautiful book that takes a deeper look at such interactions. Relationships and conversations can be viewed as energy exchanges. Sometimes, we give energy. Sometimes, we take energy. In rare instance, we stay neutral. In this way, some experiences leave us feeling drained while others leave our friend or lover feeling tired or overwhelmed.

How that interaction plays out depends entirely on our perspective. If our thoughts are based in love, we will stay centered. However, if fear or the feeling of lack is in the forefront of our minds, our interactions may be needy or negative.
