Honoria wants nothing more than a love match, but being a Duke’s daughter leaves her little choice in the matter. Her scheming Uncles want to marry her to an older widowed man with six children. She rejects her suitors left and right, and sneaks out to read poetry with Alexander Parrish to the great dismay of her Uncles. She finally is made to choose a husband. The choices she is faced with are between Brec McCloud, a dark mysterious, devilishly handsome Scottish Laird or an Earl. She chooses to marry the Laird and he whisks her off to the Isle of Mysts. His goodnaturedness soon turns to dark brooding as they approach the Isle. She comes to her new home and is greeted with suspicion. She later fights for her man as they try to overcome the lies and deceit that threaten to tear their love apart. The Scottish setting well researched which provides a wild and romantic backdrop to the story. The characters are captivating and the fast paced story and plot twists will keep you turning pages to the very end. Wonderful engaging and poignant story.
