This is book five of the continuing Chorillan Cycle series by Michelle Levigne. Lucas and Kay’ll are deeply in love. They want nothing more than to get married, spend all their time together and have babies. They both are in service with the government. Lucas is a lieutenant governor and Kay’ll is a laison between the scouts and the colony. These duties seem to take all of their precious time, leaving little time left to spend with each other. They have stolen moments before breakfast and brief intimate encounters that leave them breathless and wanting more of each other. Nobi, the head of the government wants nothing more than for them to be happy, so he boldly suggests that they get married right there in his office and elope. Kay’ll later discover on a mission that she is pregnant. She hides the pregnancy because there are many people who are still prejudiced and would try to kill her or the baby. She has married a wildling, which leaves her in a dangerous position. There are still enemies of Chorillan ,who want nothing more than revenge upon her and Lucas’s family. Their family vacation becomes sabotaged and they become separated from civilization. Lucas seeks refuges in Azuli canyon, and they hope the enemy will not follow them there.

This is a wonderful sci-fi romance. The plot is fascinating and intriguing, the constant fight between two lovers and the establishment to be together makes for a fast paced, heart-pounding read. The characters are strong and their bond is deep which makes the story come alive. This is a wonderful Sci-fi series. You can jump in with book five and not get lost. Definitely recommend this to anyone reading Sci Fi romance for the first time, excellent series to start with.
