Veronica Dey affectionately known as Roni was not prepared when Tim Starling suddenly re-entered her life. Roni started her floral design business humbly by making wreaths and selling them at local craft shows. That was where she first met Tim Starling who was a CEO for a building supply company. He was entranced the first moment that he saw her at a show and she agreed to go out with him, after he purchased a major amount of her merchandise. They quickly became an item. When the relationship began to turn serious, Roni began to talk about marriage and their future together. Tim became scared, turned tail and ran completely out of her life. Devastated Roni began to pick up the pieces, and started focusing on her new business. Three years later, Roni’s business is booming and in need of expansion. She is working on building plans but is daunted by the high costs of the materials and labor needed to build larger storage and planting areas. The bell at the front of the store dings. Roni’s smile quickly fades she finds herself face to face with Tim Starling. Finding himself dateless but obligated to attend a charity art ball, Tim’s mother insists that he look up Roni and take her as his date. He had been haunted by her memory for three years, and was hesitant to enter her shop until he saw her through the window. He immediately realizes what a fool he has been to give her up, and is enamored by her all over again the moment he lays eyes on her. He vows that he will do whatever he can to woo her and win back her heart. Roni has other ideas.
I found this book to be quite enjoyable. The hero and heroine’s personalities were a little on the cliché side. The story plot was a little worn out as well, but it is one that anyone who has ever loved deeply and lost, can identify with personally. It moves along at a relatively fast pace with suspense and humor thrown in along the way. I was immediately hooked, by the personalities of the secondary characters. I could not wait to see how they fit into the whole picture. All of the characters were memorable and easy to identify with. I immediately fell in love with Eunice and Murphy and loved the chemistry that they created. Overall, it was a very enjoyable read.
