The king of the leprechauns is in a bind. He is held by a contract that will mean the end of all his people if he cannot produce his shillelagh by midnight on St. Patrick’s Day. The problem is, he no longer has it. So, he enlists his son, Brian O’Rourke, to locate the missing shillelagh and save the leprechauns from oblivion.

The faint musical trail left by the shillelagh has led Brian to a small diner near the Adirondack Mountains and to Maggie Squires. She is holding her own as a single parent and running her grandfather’s diner. She has no room for magic in her life. At least until she meets the prince of the leprechauns.

This was a very enjoyable read. I found the author’s use of music as an underlying theme to be a fantastic draw. It lent a certain earthy magic to the story. The hero is sexy and the type of guy any woman would fall hopelessly in love with. The heroin is spunky and strong. I like the fact that she is a single mom and running a business and doing her best to get through life.

The story is sweet. Brian and Maggie bring out the best in each other and that makes for a wonderful romance. And, that first kiss in the antique shop? Well, let’s just say I was a little short of breath when it was done. Whoo Baby!

I will be sure to read more of Ms. Ferguson’s work.
