Love's Sweet Assassin is the forth book of the Heart and Soul Romance series. This series features the Reeka, a warrior race of amazon-like women who have been wrongfully accused of killing their men and are trying to regain their reputation and homeland. In the previous books, Reeka sisters Tenia and Reye gathered their fellow Reeka sisters, found the true murderers of the Reeka Men, began repairing their race's reputation, and were trying to deal with the past and the present. In the last book, readers were introduced to the Argons, a race of men who dominated and enslaved women.

Love's Sweet Assassin focuses on Katina. In this book, Katina is hired as an assassin to kill Kiile of Argon. Unfortunately, her murderous plot is foiled and Katina is taken captive by Kiile. This is not the first assassination attempt on Kiile and he wants to get to the bottom of these attacks.

Love's Sweet Assassin is romance story of sorts. The story illustrates the fine line between love and hate and the power of love to heal the most grievous wrongs. Like the other books in the Heart and Soul series, Love's Sweet Assassin is fully self-contained. Therefore, one can read this book without having read the first three books. Nonetheless, reading the first three books in this series will give the reader more information on the collective personality traits and historical background of the various cultures described in the book.
