Heart of the Forsaken is the seventh book of the Heart and Soul Romance series. This series features the Reeka, a warrior race of amazon-like women who have been wrongfully accused of killing their men and are trying to regain their reputation and homeland, as well as their allies the Daaamen traders. Other races such as the lustful Argons, the cruel Inka Empire, and the superhuman mutants are also introduced throughout the series.
Heart of the Forsaken is a love story about a pirate and a captive with a twist, namely that the pirate is female and the captive is male. Like the rest of the books in this series, the female characters are strong, stubborn, and cautious of love. Also like the other books in the Heart and Soul series, Heart of the Forsaken is fully self-contained. Therefore, one can read this book without having read the first six books. Nonetheless, reading the first six books in this series will give the reader more information on the collective personality traits, historical background of the various cultures, and interconnections between the various characters described in this story.
