Food and Books
Drew Zachary
Torquere Press, Inc.
ISBN: 1-60370-362-4
Fiction, Erotic Gay Romance
Reviewed by Shannon Frost

With Garret being a cop and Nathan being a cook, both work odd hours.  Lucky for them, the local independent bookstore owned by some kind-hearted older ladies stays open late into the night, allowing not only for them to enjoy their love of books, but also to meet each other.  Physical attraction sparks the instant they meet, but with each coming from such different backgrounds, they wonder if they’ll be able to stretch their relationship into something more serious.

At under 30 pages, Food and Books is a quick and steamy romantic read with two charming characters.  With Garret’s passion for graphic novels and Nate’s love of food, the two may have different hobbies, but there’s never any doubt that their differences aren’t strong enough to keep them apart, and each man takes it upon himself to learn about his partner’s interests, making it so that by the end of the story, there’s the feeling that the two have taken their first steps to a solid and long lasting relationship.  The intimate scenes between them are full of passion, and when interacting outside the bedroom, their affection for each other comes through in the playful dialogue.  Food and Books is an all round entertaining read, and perfect for anyone looking for something light, fun and sexy.
