God Made Me! He Made You!
Alan Flory
Bridgeway Books
ISBN: 978-1-933538-79-2
Non-Fiction, Children, Christian
Reviewed by Frederick Noronha

Mix music with education. And a determination to "fight for the minds of children". The result is Alan Flory's "God Made Me..." It comes from North Manchester, Indiana, from a special education teacher and assistant principal.

Flory's logic is this: the average (US) child of under 13, he says, spends 20 hours a week watching TV, and over 18 more hours on music, video games and the Internet. New interactive media has only made it more difficult to get children interested in literature.

This children's book offers photography, songs and a music CD. The author says he "encourages children to sing along with birds, sheep and many other animals in celebration of Jesus' love for the world."

Teacher, coach, assistant principal and Sunday school teacher Alan Flory has firm views on a range of subjects. For instance, the value of using music and video when reading to children. Or, ways to get children interested in reading. The value of music and books in
introducing young children to the Bible. And also alternative teaching methods that can help engage students.

This printed-and-bound-in-China hardcover book is well and fairly lavishly put together. It is "written for all children and adults who love animals and like to sing".
