This romantic thriller explores a deep undying love story that unfolds to reveal a scandalous family secret. The plot runs fast and jumps between the past and present as the heroine relives the seductive memories of her lost love. The sexuality of the young lovers captivates as the plot twists and turns to reveal more pieces of the puzzle. This story held elements of sweetness, and melancholy that reminded me of the plots of the old gothic romance novels.
If you love tragic romance and the sensual explorations of new lovers who are just being opened to their own sexuality, this book will not disappoint you. I thought I had the majority of the plot figured out early on in the story, but I was pleasantly surprised at the end when I didn’t foresee what was coming. The ending is resolved nicely, and the author handles the changes between time frames well. The characters are believable and draw you into their world. The sweet fragrance of spring apple blossoms will evoke quite a few lusty images once you devour this little gem.
