A group of teenagers gets the adventure of a lifetime on a trip to Egypt.
Denim, Manny, Kira, and Kym have been best friends for as long as they can remember. Denim, Manny, and Kira’s parents had been friends since high school and decided to raise their families as close friends and neighbors. Kym and his parents quickly become part of the tight knit group when they moved to the area.
Manny’s dad is the director of Anthropology at the Museum of Antiquities. His newest assignment is in Egypt and through some sort of miracle (or destiny perhaps) he managed to arrange a one week Egyptian vacation for the entire crew. Denim, Manny, Kira, and Kym are really excited about the trip until their teacher gives them a special assignment. Each of the students has to create a presentation about one of the seven wonders.
Who knew that this assignment was going to be so easy? Especially when the group gets first hand knowledge of all seven wonders as they are magically transported to each of these places while trying to track down pieces of an orb, an orb that could save the world.
The Seven Wonders of Denim McLeod was active and full of thoughtfully presented puzzles. I thought that the main characters had very good chemistry and a nice balance of skills, talents, dumb luck, and conflict. A smooth and entertaining read.
