Paul loves the country and aims to stay where everyone knows each other. Even the air is pure and fresh; definitely not what you would have in the city. Not wanting to leave it, he simply doesn’t know what to do when Max, his sexy friend and lover, dreams of the London stage and wants to move to the big city. Although Paul knows that Max is the only man for him, he lets him go as he couldn’t live with himself stopping Max from achieving all of his dreams.
As days progress into years, Paul realizes that Max is, and will always be, the love of his life. He yearns to move on and forget his love, but it doesn’t seem to be possible. With intermittent contact with Max in between unimportant flirtations with others for over twenty years, Paul knows that he will never find peace until Max is back in his arms. Not wanting anymore time to pass, he braves his dislike of the big city to go and claim Max as his own. As he knows that he will never want anyone else apart from Max, he only hopes that Max feels the same.
As a reader I was entranced by the love story portrayed here. Ms. Okati leads us on a compelling journey of two men destined for each other. Through the trials and tribulations of life illustrated so delicately by the author, one could feel real emotion for the characters. As a result, I couldn’t stop reading this delightfully fulfilling story.
