What I like most about Shirley’s story is that you can read them in any order and still enjoy it. Shirley has a creative touch with her feline detectives. They each use their own natural skills to help figure the cases out. Shirley has given each cat its own personality and strength. While keeping the cat’s close together as friends. Also showing how close their relationship is with the human counter parts and how bad it would be if their secret came out to more then the people they can trust. That it would be hard for them but doubly hard for their humans. She has you following trying to figure out who did it, or who didn’t. Each chapter keeps you guessing right till the end.
This has fast become one of my favorite books. Shirley has a great talent in writing that comes fourth in her novels. Shows you how they feel getting you to feel it right along with them. I hope she continues to write Joe Grey Mystery’s because cats have always been close to my heart which helps me love the guy’s spunk all the more. So if you’re looking for a mystery with a few laughs thrown in this is the book for you. I love the trouble Joe, Dulcie and Kit tend to get into. All the while being sweethearts till the end.
