In this refreshingly open book, Duane “Dog” Chapman, internationally known and loved bounty hunter, recounts his personal story to date. Beginning with his humble beginnings from early childhood, he divulges to the reader the early impact of starting life on the wrong side of the law. As an active gang member fueled by addition and abuse, he ended up spending time in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. While personal journeys in both private and professional spheres proved to be challenging on many occasions, it was Duane’s faith and love of his family that helped carry him through. Shooting to the public eye with the phenomenally successful hit TV show Dog, the Bounty Hunter on A&E, he shares the details of some of his most dangerous bounty hunts, including his capture of Max Factor heir and convicted rapist Andrew Luster.
This book offers the reader an insightful look into the man behind the star. I found his no-holds-barred approach to be quite exciting and interesting to read. I had the feeling that instead of reading the book, we were having a conversation which made the book all the more enjoyable. It was also an additional bonus to learn more about the characters on the TV show. A truly inspirational book that each of us can take something from, this book will definitely make you smile.
