Have you ever felt like you didn’t fit in? That you were the only one with the crazy set of parents?  In this book Kate and Alison find that both of them have strange parents. They find a way of being best friends that is just for them. The both have a love for horses; together they dream to own their own horse farm. Together they decide to write a story for their history project, creating their own world. With a female heroine, horses and a bit of history mixed with mystery. I like Aurelie’s creative descriptions of her characters. Each one has its own style, its own flair. The story show’s how two different girls, become best friends. Kate was the popular one, Alison with the back brace, not your average match for friends. Together they help each other through life’s curveballs. Aurelie gives you a view of what some people that lived in the 70’s lives were like. Some were like people are now; others were the type to think outside the box. The woman of history group is an odd mix but she describes them so well you can see them in your mind.
