Facets of the Soul is a collection of poetry that reads like a memoir of the author’s pain. Since his youth, he has suffered with depression, often associated with suicidal feelings. As a way of expressing his feelings and frustration in a more healthy way, the author has written poems about his life. Much of this work is chilling with the anger, frustration, and lack of hope exuding from the page. These pieces also illustrate the different levels of darkness and hope that the author goes through in his roller coaster ride of ups and downs associated with being on and off his medication as well as the normal tragedies of life such as death of a loved one and the ending of an important relationship.
