This is a very well-written book. As one whose high cholesterol that is currently controlled by medication, I found it interesting and very thought-provoking. One aspect I particularly like about the book is how each suggested action for lowering cholesterol is broken out, explained clearly and has examples of what happened to specific people who followed the suggestion.
There are two other positives worth mentioning. First, since each suggestion is clearly broken out, readers who might feel overwhelmed by trying to follow all ten, can pick and choose as many as they can work on comfortably. This approach argues for incremental success by everyone reading the book. The other positive is the extensive collection of recipes that will make following the dietary suggestions easier.
Dr Brill has provided a nice index, detailed notes and a list of websites that support heart health as well. This is a solid book for both individuals and libraries interested in providing good information on lowering cholesterol without the use of medication.
