Cassie was always the smart one growing up who paled in comparison to her wild child sister. She never pursued a relationship with a guy until one fateful evening. She was walking along the road to the theatre when Cole whistled to her to come over and talk to him. He was a dream that she had spent hours with in her fantasies. She sat by him on porch swing excited that he wanted to speak with her. It started with a flirtatious kiss that ignited their passion beyond control. She lost her virginity that night and her heart was light with promises that he would never let her go. She went away for a week but when she returned her world was dashed as she found Cole married to her sister. Her sister died and many believed she was murdered.
Years later, after piecing her tattered life together, Cassie is called again to confront the ghosts of her past when she is informed that her estranged mother has passed away. Bracing herself, she is the only one left to sort out the details. She is not ready to open up old wounds or deal with the reality that her sister may have been murdered. She is not ready to face Cole again after all these years.
This book is a suspenseful erotic romance. The plot is a little predictable once Cassie meets back up with Cole, but there is enough suspense and sensuality to make it an exciting page-turner. A very satisfying read.
