Dramatic cover graphics of a two-faced being set the tone for this speculative fiction. Parallel tales across two continents, programming and reprogramming: what is truth? Imposter is a tale of alien invasion under guise of a cult of mind readers. Secrecy and gradual infiltration of Earth spans across 358 pages of mystique. Children of the Future: who is Jacob? And who, truly who, is Arthur? Fine dialogue carries the story along, interesting action sharpens conflict, and a mesh of intrigue creates good suspense.
Suspicious deaths- is a serial killer on a spree? And how is the slayer connected to the Anthropoid cult whose penetration sets wheels in motion that might challenge humankind? What begins as a simple tale of adultery, when Arthur finds wife Patricia in bed with a strange man, spiders into alter egos and the mystic. While the analogous story of Jacob Brown is not developed as robustly as the focal one of Arthur, Kathy Anderson has an easy and effective writing style. Several cups of tea for this one, or a few piccolos of sparkly: brace yourself for one long read that is as effortless as it is suspenseful. Indeed notable for a first work of fiction.
