Christen has one strict rule- she doesn’t date cops. The girl has a very good reason. Her former boyfriend, Johnny, was a cop. A real piece of work that one: controlling, possessive, and abusive. Then there’s that jerk Jake, always coming on to Christen. Worst of all though is Keono. Every time that Christen and he talk, he seems to come up with yet another way of telling her that she’s teasing all of these men. Yet, Christen just can’t seem to stop thinking about the guy.
Keono is having troubles of his own. He’s got a serial killer to track down. Collecting evidence is troublesome, complicated by interested onlookers, dogs, and even the weather. The only real clues are the blue envelopes that accompany each murder.
I feel a little conflicted with Just Love Me. For much of the story, I actually see two different stories within this novel that didn’t really mesh fully into one solid romantic suspense storyline. As I read, I kept thinking that each of these lines would make pretty good novels in and of themselves but that together some of the information took me away from the action rather than drew me in. Ultimately though, I was glad that I persevered because the two storylines did eventually come together into one coherent whole.
