Caress of a Psychopath
Cinseara R. Santiago
Lulu Press

Fiction, Paranormal
Reviewed by Qetesh

Caress of a Psychopath is a sheer intellectual delight. This fast paced story leaves you reeling from one moment to the next as you watch and experience the unfolding drama of the person who will one day become Sallos the vampire.

You embark immediately on a journey of the heart as well as the mind. The character speaks to you in a first person, stream of consciousness style, which paints a rich intimate portrait. It is as immersive, and compelling as reading a person’s diary. You feel his pain acutely after his father loses his job. He comes home and kisses his wife on the forehead, then goes in the bedroom and blows his head off with a shotgun. You are destroyed again, shortly thereafter, as you watch in horror as his mother overcome by grief; overdoses on pills. You laugh reading his first adventure at becoming an “adult” film producer.

This book is an exhilarating ride that leaves you breathless and craving more. Sallos is definitely a character that you never will forget. The author’s writing is evocative, imaginative, and compelling. He leaves you dangling like a great horror master, and then drops you, only to pick you right back up and push you onward to the next scene.
