I recently read Beth Willamson’s novella On His Knees. As the title implies, this novella (about 70 pages) is an erotic story with moderate BDSM and female domination. It’s quite well written and enjoyable.
Renny Johnson divorced her husband a year ago. She kept the house, and one night she’s awoken by a prowler. She quickly grabs a baseball bat (left by her ex-husband) and lands a lucky blow, knocking out the intruder. Her second surprise of the night is seeing that the intruder is her ex-husband, Nick. She’s both bitter from and confused about the reasons for her divorce, so she ties Nick up, the better to extract information from him.
We quickly learn that Nick has discovered a predilection for being submissive, and that, in the year apart, his wife has become more adventurous. Well, this being erotic fiction, one thing leads to another and soon, the couple are having much wild sex. In the morning, Nick leaves, and Renny goes to her friend for girl talk.
Miss Williamson doesn’t make things easy for her ex-couple, tossing a helping of excess pride, complications from some “real” intruders and miscommunication into the mix, but suffice it to say the that ex-couple discover the excitement of hot sex and handcuffs.
Williamson is a good writer, and knows her way around a love scene. The bondage elements are light and playful, not high fetish, and the overall tone of the piece is breezy. All in all, On His Knees is an entertaining read.
