A series of tragedies leaves newborn twin girls orphaned. The girls are split up, without any knowledge of the other, and grow up to lead very different lives. Sarah grows up far from her homeland as the only child of a loving family. Her family supports her in every aspect of her life and the young woman eventually becomes an FBI agent. Her sister Essie’s life is filled with trauma and abuse when her adopted mother unknowingly marries the man who killed both Essie’s father and her adoptive mother’s first husband. Still, destiny has a way of making things right again and bringing together those who love each other.
I quite enjoyed Liberation Front. The back story was extremely well thought out and integrated well with the rest of the storyline. The author even carefully tied in all the loose ends by the end of the book without sounding like faked or rushed. However, I think that it was the dialogue that probably impressed me the most about this book. Some of the conversations at the start made me cringe as the feeling of racism was so powerful. This well planned aspect provided an immediate feeling and attitude towards the different characters that kept me hoping for vindication throughout the whole book.
