Rick Chiantaretto’s novel Facade of Shadows is a wonderfully written vampire story that Buffy fans, among others, will love. Readers interested in Vampires, Egypt, action, and so much more will love this book. Even if you don’t think you like vampire books, pick it up! It’s full of great characters and fascinating stories that teens and adults alike will love.
From the very first scene, starring Julian, a vampire with a conscience and even remorse, Rick Chiantaretto’s writing will pull readers in, and keep their attention. One more page becomes one more chapter (which becomes two more chapters, and so on) until the book has all been read and the time it took to read it has sped by. The characters are brilliant and very three-dimensional parts of a story that is complicated but not confusing and it will have readers hooked, and eagerly awaiting more from this brilliant new author!
