Devlin was on the hunt for a vampire. She had to find the last item of the scavenger hunt to be crowned fairy queen for one year. Not only did she have to find a vampire, but also she had to tame him to do her bidding to win the prize. She could not believe her luck, when she spied Duncan in the woods. He seemed to beckon her mockingly in a game of chase as she hunted down her query. She finally caught up with him and struck a bargain. He would accompany her to the festivities if she would agree to lay with him and comfort him. Devlin agreed to the bargain unsure of the strange feelings this vampire had awoken within her.

This book was a sweet romantic sensual love story. The kind that makes you believe in princes, princesses, and true love. The vampire’s past was a delicately woven tapestry of love, regret, and tragedy that brought his character depth and realism. Devlin experiences the first taste of love both physically and emotionally and it leaves its mark on her forever. This story was a delight to read and is reminiscent of fairy tales. The love scenes were tender and romantic and in perfect harmony with the characters. A wonderful read.
