Jonah had escaped society by opting to go to the family's cabin up in the mountains. Taking a holiday from the day to day life of the city, wanting the peace and quiet to work on his recent novel in progress he was in his element, alone with just Chewie, the dog for company. Until the role of knight in shining armor was thrust upon him, in the form of one very pretty unconscious lady, he rescued from a car wreck. Forced to share housing until the roads opened, they found themselves compatible on many levels, including chemistry. For once in her life, Katherine makes the choice to do as she wants, not worrying about what mommy or society might make of her actions, opting to stay with Jonah stipulation of no strings attached firmly in place, until her car is fixed. Cavorting around, making love, laughing, and generally getting to know one another's habits, Jonah and Katherine find they are in tune with each other.
All goes up in blazes when Katherine's mother and the man who has asked her to marry him show up at the cabin, supposedly to rescue her from her fate. Through stubbornness and an unwillingness to ask Jonah watches her walk away, neither willing to give voice to what they are truly feeling. Each moving on with their lives and the consequences from their choices during that ice storm, will they find their way through it all?
If you're a reader who firmly believes love conquers all, Snowbound will meet most all requirements for that. With the slightest touch of sexual heat and a lot of romance intermixed with heart ache and troubles, not to mention a smidgen of humor, grants the audience of this story a smooth easy read. Susan Greene presents us with a limited but well written characters to attach ourselves with.
