With the advent of the Internet Age, blogging has enabled individuals to convey their ideas, thoughts, and opinions, not only to each other but to the worldwide audience at a rapid pace. R. Scott Hall, author of The Blog Ahead explores the history of blogs, their place in cyberspace, the effectiveness in businesses, the future of bloggers and their necessary tools for success, the impact of graphics and images in blogs, the influences that make some blogs more powerful than others, and lastly, he introduces a list of “Axioms of Blogosophy”: principles for the first true citizens of the world.
In cyberspace, blogs be found on almost any topic. Hall focuses of certain areas of blogging such as politics and the media, law, businesses, the academy, and the arts. These are just a few, of course. But, they are a good start. He explains that bloggers have discovered a way to communicate with the rest of the world through the internet. Essentially, citizens living in a global world are also “shrinking” it. Their communication is quicker on any topic they choose, more imaginative, and more widespread than ever thought of.
R. Scott Hall writes with precision, well thought out research, and understanding of the Internet world. His 20 years of experience in IT companies shines through in this book as he writes to not only businesses trying to reach customers, but also individuals. He also writes the well known Citizen-Generated Media Blog. This book is definitely a good read.
