Dr. D.V. Pasupuleti, neurologist and author of this book, encourages the reader to forget about the drugs and use your mind to find the answers. He believes that happiness is in the mind of the beholder and that through greater self-understanding and letting go of the negative, true happiness is attainable. Based on a combination of psychiatry, neurology, and various world religions, he stresses the three tenants of true happiness which focus on material possessions, negative emotions, and that happiness can only come from within. While exploring these tenants and so much more, one can begin to see how people from all walks of life can benefit.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book as I felt that it highlighted the important fact that happiness is truly locked inside. Drugs or the “happy pill” can sometimes help but cannot be considered the cure for all cases of depression. His logical yet knowledgeable approach to the topic was very easy to read and was quite uplifting and positive in nature; definitely a resource I would consult for further information.
