Alone in Eden is written from the point of view of Adam’s first-born son before the fall of the Garden of Eden. He witnesses his mother being beguiled by the serpent and watches in horror when she eats the forbidden fruit. He cannot believe his eyes when his father Adam repeats this forbidden action. He does not eat of the fruit but runs to take sanctuary in a cave while everything that he has come to understand begins to come undone.
You are carried along with him on his journey accompanied by vivid breathtaking imagery that the author masterfully constructs. The book packs a powerful message as the son acts as a watcher silently observing the consequences to humanity that have occurred after the fall. The book generates as many questions as it answers and is reflective, meditative, as well as illuminating.
The author’s style is lyrical with such colorful vivid emotional energy that you are drawn into the unfolding drama from page one. You can feel the son’s first swellings of emotion and tears; you can feel his first experiences of hunger and his horror over blood and death. It is an unforgettable book that gives a deep insight into what might have occurred during and after the time of the fall. A variety of biblical characters are brought to life. You experience them personally as living beings with rich histories and experiences. It is the most fascinating and emotional account of biblical history that I have ever read. It is truly unforgettable. I would love to see more work from this author. He captivates the mind and heart.
