What if you could choose to become immortal? What would it be like? Would it be heartbreaking to see everyone you know and love die? Would you keep everyone at arm’s length knowing that they just leave you in the end? Or would everyday be an adventure? Would you have the chance to interact with people in a way you’d never thought possible?
Trissa is about to make that choice. Her people have the unique experience of actually choosing whether they wish to be immortal or not. Trissa’s parents have chosen to be mortal while her brother Garren chose immortality. Which decision will Trissa make?
A good short story in which the main character is in a lose-lose situation. Either way, she will lose her family. Moreover, it brings up a really goodquestion. Does mortality take away a person’s humanity?
