A reflective cover builds the aura of this 369-page novel whose style is almost cryptic yet humorous. One security breach and the international community is flung to alert. But in Stillwater, Florida, one Vivian Gray is caught in the porch of youth. More like close to mid-life crisis by the semblance of things. She reckons with price tags in a low beat store until a date with Nick goes all wrong. Despite being thrust out of a 5-star joint, Vivian has no clue just how bad a day it can be.
Searing light, inferno: everything is tossed into oblivion. Suddenly, survival is key.
Marcus Alexander Hart's tale is one of those love-or-hate narratives and could have been shorter. A liberal dose of wit, however, lends an engaging quotient that carries it through. Writing is neat, almost tongue-in-cheek. "Anybody out there? Anybody!? " an apocalypse state of affairs near impossible to resist. Ample street language, be warned!
