Elise Nicholson is just trying to stick to her business. A Lightbringer, or Fire Witch, she is simply too busy with trying to keep her life together to even notice the impeding danger advancing towards her. The notoriously evil Brotherhood is on the prowl for her and has even offered a financial bounty on her head. Not sure of what to do next, she takes comfort in her passion of music. Excited to be performing at such a notorious hot spot, she goes into shock when she realizes that she has been found by the Brotherhood.
Saved by the darkly handsome Remy, the Hunter, she slowly becomes to realize that he is there to guard her with his life. Destined as her Watcher, he will stop at nothing to protect his Fire Witch. As they try to sneak past the Brotherhood in their search of Elise’s missing friends, they grow to respect and trust one another. After a lifetime of living with being a ‘freak’, Elise begins to embrace her true destiny. With the Trifero Talisman around her neck and Remy by her side, she knows that she can accomplish anything.
I really enjoyed this complex yet entertaining story. As the highly anticipated third book in the Watcher Series, I felt compelled to seek out the other two books so that I could understand the whole picture. The characters came alive under Ms. Saintcrow’s talented descriptions and the pace kept me continually entranced. With such a dynamic read in the series, I wait with bated breath for the next installment!
