Alexander the Great was an amazing military ruler who to this day is worthy of admiration and study. History books examine the events that created the man and led him to his final demise. Business books analyze Alexander’s style of rule and adapt it to suit the running of a successful modern company.
Before The Dawn of Alexander the Great takes a slightly different approach. This book is part of the Son of the Bracelet series which is an alternate account, a fictional account, of the life of Alexander the Great. This first book focuses on the happening that occurred before Alexander was conceived. We learn that Olympias, the future leader’s mother, is a princess of Epirus and a descendent of Achilles. This woman’s story is mysterious and mystical. Olympias’ mother had been deemed “The Chosen of God” and had passed this legacy onto Olympias. It has been prophesized that she too would pass this inheritance to her son and in doing so his destiny would special.
Before The Dawn of Alexander the Great tells the story through the perspective of a peddler turned physician named Daneion (renamed Wallis by Olympias). This man sees himself as nothing really interesting or important. Despite this humble attitude, the peddler experiences a series of mystical experiences that lead him to his own unique destiny.
